Latch on, travel light.
Remora is a remote desktop app that connects you to a faraway Windows machine in seconds and hands you full control. The connection is direct, between two devices — no server, no middleman, no trace.
It's named after a fish.
The remora is a small fish that latches onto sharks and whales out in the open ocean. It doesn't harm the giant it rides or slow it down; it travels along quietly and leaves no trace when it lets go. We gave the app that name because we wanted it to work exactly the same way: latch onto the remote machine, do your work, and leave nothing behind.
Remote desktop tools have long been either slow, complicated, or asking too much of your trust — connections routed through the cloud, needless account requirements, baffling menus. We wanted something simpler: download, share a Host ID and PIN, connect. Your data stays between your two devices, and nowhere else.
We build Remora as Embedra, from Türkiye. There's always a real person behind it — someone accountable, someone you can write to when something goes wrong.
Three things we won't compromise.
Privacy isn't bolted on
The connection is direct between two devices and encrypted end to end. Your screen, your files, your keystrokes never pass through our servers. We can't share data we never store.
Simplicity is a choice
No setup wizard, no mandatory account, no getting lost in settings. Download, share a Host ID and PIN, connect. Everything else stays out of the way until you need it.
Speed you can feel
We wrote the core in Rust — for low latency and screen streaming at hardware speed. When you move the remote mouse, you expect the cursor to respond instantly; so do we.
Embedra is behind it.
